Exercise and Chocolate bars…….

As I have previously mentioned, I have been doing Atkins for a month now(4 weeks and 3 days) and I started exercising a week and a half ago. I thought that if I am going to try to lose weight then I might as well actually try to get healthy. My heart rate has not dropped after losing this last baby. Even when I am just sitting still, it had been up at 100+ bpm. Right now, it is resting at around 87 bpm. That’s not perfect, but at least it’s on it’s way down.

I have been doing Tae-Bo every morning. I started on Tuesday August 2th, and I go for half an hour and then stretch with the girls and Jon for about 20 minutes. I have decided that my plan of action is to do Tae-Bo 6 days a week from now until School starts. I will do it every day except for Saturday – that’s my day of rest. That is to kick start my exercise program. Then in September, I will do Tae-bo 3 days a week, and possibly go walking the other 3 days – still taking Saturday’s off. That is my plan right now.

I am still a little stressed about what to do on our vacation. We are going to Vasseaux Lake from August 20-27. And I still really want to be exercising. Not that I really WANT to be exercising, but I really want to lose weight and inches. I am extremely motivated right now. and I hope to stay that way.

I find it difficult to not be pregnant, but to still be carrying the extra pregnancy weight. So, as I seem to have 3 months or so, until I get the okay from my Dr. to try to get pregnant; I figure that I will take this time to lose weight, and get in the best shape that I can.

Having said all of that, What do Exercise and Chocolate have in common? In “my personal life and eating habits” – NOTHING! But yesterday, I left Jon and the kids for an hour or three, and when I got home, it turns out that J. was an absolute angel while I was gone – first clue that something wasn’t right. Jon had a visitor over, and J. just watched TV the whole time they were chatting – clue # 2. What Jon failed to notice was what was on the other side of J…….2 whole chocolate bars. Or sould I say at this point, 2 chocolate bar wrappers.

Needless to say, J. was an absolute hyper mess the rest of the day. Which is saying something, because he is normally full of energy – way more so than any other normal human child I have ever met. So, by the time 5pm rolled around, we were never so happy to have the opportunity to drop him off at his Karate lesson and to leave him in the capable hands of the sensei for an hour. We warned him, of course, and apparently J. only had to stand facing the wall once, and to do 2 extra sets of push ups. Although, he did start to hit/fight another kid in the class and after class, the sensei had the two kids come up and fight. Not so sure what I think about that, or the fact that the other kid(a 6 year old) got his butt kicked by my 4 year old. Hmmmmmm, Yah, not so sure what to think about all of that.

So based on all of yesteray’s fun – do you see where the chocolate fits in – today after I tae-bo’d for half an hour, ate breakfast and got dressed for the day, J. and I went for a walk. I was desperate to burn off some of his excess energy. I thought I’d just walk until he dropped. Well, we made it to the library, and the last bit of it he really wanted me to carry him. I think it’s farther than he’s ever walked before, but he was so calm at the library, and he was really good the rest of the day. I have to keep that one in mind. “WALK ‘TILL HE DROPS”

’till next time……

p.s. I will keep posting pictures that are either really good, or really bad. Just so we have a record and can see me shrinking. Hopefully, that’s how it’ll work. I thought the head shot and the upper body shot look okay, but the chair one with the thigh fat squishing over the the edge of the chair – YIKES!!!!

    Hey Blogger,
How’s the 6 days a week of exercises going.
In an effort to keep myself accountable, I’m letting you know that I’m going RUCKING tomorrow at 6AM, maybe 6:30, no let’s get serious here, 6:00. I’ll be seeing you at 9:00, so I’ll have to admit my failures or celebrate my victories.

PS. Rucking is my own version of flailing around the neighborhood in a walk/run sort of fashion.
