Update

Here’s my update.

I slept from 2:30pm until6:oopm. Yup, Jon said that He’d go to get the kids, and so I laid down and fell asleep. Three and a half hours later, I wake up, and everybody has gone to swimming lessons. I get a call from the heating/air duct cleaners that They are going to be coming by in the morning between 9-12. So,…….I GO INTO OVERDRIVE! I have to get the house cleaned because these duct cleaners can’t possibly be subjected to a dirty house.

Well, actually the last time they were over – we had a squirrel melted to the burner of our heater. Yup, Fried right on there. It smelled so bad, I thought I was going to throw up.

It was a cold day in the summer, and I turned on the heater just to take the edge of the cold off of the house. It started to heat up, and THIS SMELL started to permeate the house. We turned off the furnace, and called the landlord. He sent called the furnace guys, and they came over a few hours later. They cleaned out every duct, and told us that the smell was coming from the chicken nuggets that the kids had stored in the TV room heating vent. NO WAY, it was dead animal smell, not leftover chicken nugget smell. They cleaned out all the ducts, and found some fish skins in the furnace – Yah, IN THE FURNACE!!! We tried to tell the guys that we had a baby squirrel lose in the house, and could it have crawled into a duct and died? Nope! Not Possible, say they!

RIGHT!!!!!!

Any way, they turn on the furnace to air out what they’ve cleaned, and WHAMMO – Dead animal smell is back! I leave, and when I get back…….they have found a dead baby squirrel fried to the furnace burner. They are gagging, and coughing, and choking because the smell is SOOOOO BAD! What did I tell you? Baby Squirrel, running loose in our house! So, they scraped it off the furnace, and then ran the furnace for 24 hours to completely clean it off.

The reason I told that story was that the girls bedroom in the back of the house was a disaster – you’ve seen pictures of the aftermath of Katrina……..large scale replica of my girls room. Seriously! I heard them(the duct guys) talking about how bad it was – kinda made me feel bad, but not enough to clean it. I do make them clean it about once every 2-3 months. It’s brutal. Last night, I tried to tidy it a little so that when the guys walked around with their little “CO” machine to see if we’re going to die of carbon monoxide poisoning, they they’d think to themselves - Wow, this house looks great! Not that it really matters! I even tidied the boxes in my room………right into the closet. Now, My room looks clean too!

The real kicker in all of this is: He did nothing, and went no where! Because He’d been there in July, he just looked a the furnace, and then left. All that extra effort and energy for nothing. SUCKS!

I didn’t get to sleep at 10pm either, but I was sleeping by 11pm – no that it did much good, because J woke me up at 11:41pm stumbling around with his gaunch around his ankles, and crying because He couldn’t figure out where the crapper was. Major adrenaline rush! I didn’t want him peeing on the floor – which he’s done before! Oh well, I did manage to get back to sleep, and slept until 6:30am. I actually felt a little bit human instead of like a zombie. Well, ER is on and I’m going to watch it.

Until next time……….
