Thanksgiving Sunday
Our church was shut down today because of the strike. The teachers in BC are striking – not only for more pay, although they are underpaid, but mostly in response to large class sizes, reduced special needs aids, and restrictions in regards to the school’s libraries. Our church – The River Community Church – meets in the theatre of a secondary school. Because of the strike, the janitors – who let us into and lock up after – won’t cross the picket lines, and as a result, we are locked out!
We’ve been wanting to go and visit Grandpa K. and just haven’t had time. So, today we packed the kids into the van, put in a DVD(thank God for that) and took off towards North Vancouver. We went to church with Grandpa and Aunty Ruth and Aunty Hope. After church was finished, we went to White Spot for lunch.
I took some photos, and so did J. He takes the best shots – not really! If this is how he sees me…………..the poor child!
Check out the photo’s from today. Just click on the photo’s link at the top of the page.
