Well, today is the 6th school day that the teachers have been striking. We’re doing okay, here at our house; and I even attempted to teach my kids a little bit. Nice waste of time that was! Hence the reason, that I would never, EVER attempt to homeschool my kids. I love them too much to do that to them. Nope, I’d much rather subject them to the loving, albeit, slightly bit humanistic views of the secular public school system.

So, my sister-in-law called me this afternoon after she picked up her kids from the (not striking private) school that she has them in.

She has a salon in Burnaby, BC called Chez Liliane. It’s gorgeous. Any way, I went to see her yesterday and got my hair cut and colored. It’s a little different, but I love it.

We took all our kids and went to McDonalds. We stayed until the noise level, in particular the screaming got unbearable. Then we packed up and took our screaming children home. I’m sure all the parents and grandparents sitting there breathed a sigh of relief when we left. Hey, that’s the whole reason we went. So we could burn off some energy, and let them tear someplace apart other than our homes. It was an all-round positive experience.
