What is “Goop,” anyway?
Today we carved pumpkins! It’s an annual tradition. We buy pumpkins, and then let the kids scoop out all the inside stuff, and then they draw on the faces, and then we/they carve they faces out. We’ve done it every year since before the kids were born. Only, we don’t usually leave it until the day before Halloween.
No, We usually do it way too early, and then end up with rotting, moldy pumpkins – a few days before Halloween. Such Fun! Nothing better than rotton, moldy pumpkin soup on your front door step, or on your balcony! Nice!
Xani says to me, “Mom, we gotta get all the “goop” out from inside the pumpkin, right?”
“Yes, Dear!”
Well, What is “goop” anyway?
“Ummmm, it a Kennedy word – means “gooey-mucky stuff”
“Oh!”
Yup, keeping the Kennedy language going strong – at least in my house! I swear, one day I’m going to publish a dictionary, and give it to my brother and sister-in-laws to help them decode our language. I’m sure it will help with all sorts of marital grief and stress! Hee Hee!
But, once again we had such a fun family time. I know, it sounds corny – WE CARVE PUMPKINS – Doesn’t everybody? But, I think it’s one of those things that years from now the kids will look back, and say – That was so much fun when we did that every year……..Remember the year the Xan tried to create a………, and What about the year that J did……..
Those are the things I cherish about days like today and am looking forward to years from now! They won’t stay my little ones forever!
P.S. I uploaded a bunch of new pics – if you’re interested………..
