American Thanksgiving

As I’ve mentioned before – we are a multi-cultural family and as such we celebrate……………….every and any holiday that we can grab a hold of.

Nah, I’m just kidding! We celebrate American Thanksgiving, and aside from all the regular Canadian Holiday’s that’s about it!

Jon and MumToday we hauled the kids out of school early, and drove into Jon’s parents house. It was a really nice afternoon! That’s really amazing! Not in an icredulous, shocking kinda way; but in a really good, thankful kinda way! I say that because, well, it hasn’t always been that way!

I’d say that as a family we are growing closer together. That’s a good thing! There were times and years that we’d get together and things would seem tense at times. I am so very thankful that we can now get together and just relax and be ourselves, and not worry about the little things; but accept our differences – even embrace those things that make us unique as individuals, and in turn special as a family!

We have this tradition in our family that once dinner is done, maybe over dessert, that we go around the table and each person says what they are thankful for, or have been thankful for over the last year. This year Dad C. was not here. He’s coming home from Burma or some other such place, tomorrow! He missed it by one day! Not so great planning on his part! I think that we are all thankful that he is still with us after his heart attack earlier this year.

Death or even the threat of death really makes you aware of how precious life is.

Hey, no problem for me to be compared to Yanni… He’s rich and famous… and lots of women find me him sexy.

  4. Xangelle:

    Jon’s mustache?!?!?!?!

He doesn’t really have a moustache – It’s more of just an all over really short beard. Must just be the way the light is hitting it if it looks like a moustache.

Or are you talking about Yanni’s moustache – that’s a ‘stache and a half! Woooo Boy!

  5. Lise:

no it’s the hair that makes him look more like Yanni now!!!
