Yes, It’s True….
WE ARE COMPLETELY NUTS! We went shopping today…and we took our kids!
I can hear the gasps of horror from any other parent reading this.
Here’s how it shook down! Jon was supposed to have appointments today with 2 different clients. The 10am dude didn’t show up until 10:40am and then the 1pm called in sick! So, after much deliberation, we decided that well we should just get it done. Unfortunately, we still had stuff to get. We bundled the kids up and headed out.
We hit Seven Oaks Mall, where we Dollar Stored it, and then we stopped off at The Body Shop, while Jon was paying, we went and visited Nina at American Eagle. (We always seem to miss her – whenever we make it to the mall, she not working – but today she was there. YAH!) Then we got an Ice-Cream from Purdy’s and left the mall. We headed to Walmart. I knew I had completely lost it when I walked in the door, and every till had a line up of at least 10 people with HUGE loads in their buggy’s. We found a few more gifts there, and by the time we made it back to the till’s the line ups were only 3-5 people long. After that we went to the Dollar Giant, and the kids had their own money and they bought gifts for each for each other. Then we went(can you believe that we dragged out kids around like this with all the other crazies still out shopping for last minute stuff) to House of James, and got a CD for each of our kids, and a few presents for some others. Then we hit Superstore. Of all the stores this was was the emptiest, and my most favorite. I even let the kids yahoo around like little monkey’s and didn’t freak out at them. We picked up a movie for tonight at Blockbuster and then came home.
How many stores was that? Just a sec while I scroll back to count……..8 stores that we actually bought something at. I think the most surprising thing is that our kids are still happy! I don’t know what lottery I won, but I’m not complaing about it.
Actually, I’m tired! Freaking tired! And I still have to sort everything out that we got today, and then finish wrapping. After all of today’s effort – WE ARE NOT FINISHED! Can you believe it? I can’t! I forgot my list at home, and tried to do the “best” I could with out it. Hmmmmmm, turns out that my “best” today was not good enough, and we will have to go out once more. I am hoping that tonight we will figure out/sort out/determine everything that needs to be done – make a list, and then get it done! This sucks. I never want to do this again. It’s too stressful trying to figure it all out last minute. Well, nothing I could do about it this year – circumstances beyond my control and all – but hopefully next year I will be able to plan a little better.
Well, Jon made dinner and it’s ready! I’m off, Ta Ta for now!

ya shopping with kids, what are you thinking, oh what a minute I do it all the time!! and everytime I am like doh what was I thinking???? craziness!
the funnest part is when you take your 5 year old Christmas shopping and try to turn it into a date and all the while throwing things into the cart that are for her but when she asks you quickly say, they are for your sister, and watch her get madder and madder because she wants EVERYTHING she sees and tells you it isn’t fair until you want to take all the things out of your cart and throw them back on the shelves and say “there……….. you precious little child” but no I think that would be classified of some level of child abuse I am sure and give her aweful memories of shopping with her mother at Christmas time and she would be in prayer ministry for the rest of her life!! whew sorry into run-on sentences!!!
I thought I was all finished my shopping til my 11 year old told me that the thing she wants the most is Zoo Tycoon 2, great, so out looking I go!!!
