How Many Posts Can I Write in One Day
Well, This is me medicated. My life is much happier, and fortunately or unfortunately depending on how you look at it – When I’m happier, and healthier I talk/think/type more. Good or Bad??????
Any how, I just got off the phone with the kids school. I was calling to let them know that Jeremy was going to be picked up by another mom. He has a playdate this afternoon. I’m hoping it goes well. I guess I’ll find out later today if the mom is still in one piece or not. She has twin boys that are J’s age – should be interesting.
While on the phone, I decided to mention that Xandra was at home today. Geli had obviously told Xan’s teacher because I had forgotton to call the school first thing, and they hadn’t called me. Which they do if you forget to call a child in sick.
Anyhoo………Back to my original rant. I am a little annoyed becuase too many times this year the kids have come home saying stuff like, “My teacher says that I’m pretty sick, and should probably stay home tomorrow.” This is usually thrown over their shoulder as they race off outside into the forrest with a picnic snack for 2 hours. They sound deathly ill, don’t they. Obviously during school they were on their death bed, and couldn’t possibly function.
She has a cough. No fever, or runny nose or anything else. So, I kept her home today and am forcing her to stay in her room. I don’t care what she does, but being sick is staying in your room, on your bed and preferably sleeping. Sick is sick! Sick in not bothering me, wanting to paint, or bake cookies, or play card games, or hoping that when Jeremy comes home that you can get up to play. Sick is actually really sick – Not a fun day home!
Geli has been allowed to go to the sick room way too many times this year and last year. Mostly on days when she hasn’t eaten her lunch ’cause she was having too much fun, and is having a major sugar low. Why is it acceptable to bring me to school to pick up an obviously faking-it sick kid, and then have to bring her home where she bounces off the walls and roof ’cause she’s delerious……………ly happy that she faked the school and her mom out and got to come home and doesn’t have to do her work. Haven’t you worked in Children’s Education long enough to know when a kid is faking it and when their not. Look for glazed eyes. Sure fire indicator of a truely sick kid. Any kid that is smirking as they tell you how ill they feel is obvoiusly faking it. Give them a glass of water, be the nice office lady and tell them to lay down for 5 minutes and then send them back to class.
I’m annoyed, and taking it out on my obviously-not-sick daughter by being the meanest mom in the whole entire world. She has to stay in her room the whole day today. She’ll be back at school tomorrow and happy to go. School is WAY more fun than faking-it sick!
