I Got Away…Hurray! Hurray!
I had coffe with a friend today. While this might not seem like a huge accomplishment to you. It was heaven to me.
I’ve been stuck inside and feeling crappy this week (not a good week-just in case you didn’t figure that out). I have a standing apptointment for coffee with this particular friend every Thursday. I think I may have even mentioned that before. Well, we’ve missed about 4 weeks in a row. She was sick and then she was sick again and then she went to the Island, and then I was sick. Lotta sickness goin’ ’round. Anyway, we met up today and even though we had a 2 hour coffee we ran outta time before we ran outta words. Sucks! I have to say that after it all was said and done, I learned some realy cool stuff that I can’t wait to try to apply in my (our [Jon and I]) lives - very cool!
I love my coffee time. It was extra special ’cause when I got home the house was even cleaner than when I left. The kids had been working hard. We’ve got the slave thing worked out great. That’s why you have kids, isn’t it? Deal with the hard stuff for the first few years so that you can raise slaves to all the grunt work around the house by the time they’re teenagers. I know I threw that one at my parents a few times. Fun-Fun-Fun!
So, Jon and I have had an on going “discussion” for at least half of the day. It’s not a knock down freakin’ out fight, more of a really heavy discussion. I hate it. I love it as well. Not the “discussion” part of it (that’s work and effort), but the fact that when we finally do work this particular issue out hopefully it won’t keep bitin’ us in the ass every few months.
I borrowed my grandfather’s camera for the kids play – the pics are going to come as soon as I tweak them – and I think I’m in love. I wandered around my backyard yesterday and took these pics.Â
Whatcha think?

Hey Sweetie…I’m so glad you like our coffees too! They are often the highlight of my week! So..it blesses me to know they mean alot to you too. There’s something about being able to sit with a friend and just yak…And a good friend to me, is someone who can go from ‘doing dishes’ type talk, to ‘God talk’ and back to ‘how I hate taking out the garbage’ kinda talk. THAT’s real life..and that’s why I LOVE sitting with you!
