We went to the Chilliwack Rodeo on Saturday to see my Brother-in-Law ride Bareback.  He rides the Rodeo circuit here on the West Coast.   In all his rides, he’s had one qualified ride, and one unqualified ride.  That means that in all the times that he’s attempted to stay on the back of the horse, he’s done it twice for 8 seconds.  One time, the judges said that the ride was a good ride, and the other time he was disqualified for some reason or another.  Every other time he’s been thrown before the 8 seconds was up.  So Much Fun!

My brother Tim was going to do an exhibition ride.  That means that he’s never done this before, and was going to throw himself on the back of a bucking horse, hold on for dear life, and get thrown within the first few seconds.  My sister and I were talking, and figured that Tim would actually do pretty well!  We didn’t figure that he’d stay on for 8 seconds, but we figured that with his stubbornness and fierce determination, that he’d hang on longer than most normal, sane people would.  When we left the Rodeo on Saturday night, Tim was talking about paying the fee’s to be able to ride the rest of the season with Denver!  Ha Ha!  Adrenaline Junkies!

Funny enough, he actually stayed on the horse for longer than Denver did.  Keep in mind that the horse assigned to Denver was named Grizzly, and He was HUGE!  Denver was assigned the 1st slot, and the horse in the 2nd slot was a whole head shorter than the horse Denver got.  Not only that, but last year when Denver’s brother attempted to do an exhibition ride, he got this particular horse, and once he was on the horses back, while the horse was in the stall/pen/whatever it’s called – the horse attempted to climb out of the stall.  It reared up and put it’s front legs up on the railings.  Squished the crap outta Denver’s brother’s leg!  Oh the thrills of the rodeo!

I have some pics you can check out, and even a video.  We only caught Denver getting ready, ’cause the camera lady was a lot little shaky, and then she missed Denver’s 1 second ride!  She got most of Tim’s ride, though.
