I’m Shocked! It’s Really Working!

I woke up this morning and after taking care of some “business”, walked out into the house. I was kinda surprised that the TV wasn’t on.

The TV is ALWAYS on, and the kids are ALWAYS in front of it, and the TV room ALWAYS looks like a tornado went through it. It was still clean from last night! Hmmmm! I looked up through the TV room window, out onto the deck, and just about fell over. My kids! All three of them! Working together to take the laundry off the line, and fold it. No fighting, no bickering, just fabulous working together.

Kids Helping with Laundry

They have run around the house this morning doing whatever they can think of trying to help out so that they can get points. Jeremy ran around and flushed all the toilets. As you can tell, the kids don’t always flush after they do their “business” He thought this one was worth a point. Not so sure that it was, but as far as I’m thinking if they get a Sundae today, and are encouraged to keep going – It’s worth it!

My house is clean, and other than a little bit of a freak out when I saw this…..

J hanging over the Balcony

…..’cause it’s always nice to see your kid dangling over the edge of the balcony…..it seems like this idea of working together for a prize might actually work. It may need a bit of tweaking, ’cause I’m not sure that I’m going to be buying them a Sundae EVERY DAY, but maybe we’ll tie this in with the chore chart and making money somehow! Who knows?

Oh Well! My house is tidy (Not Clean – Big Difference – but we’re working on it!) and My Children are motivated! Life is Grand!

Hi Patti Sounds like you have hit on a great plan. Have been trying to get Grandpa ready to be on his way to-morrow . Indi and his wife are coming to pick us up at about 11:30 . I really think he is pretty well ready. In some way I wish I were going to but I just felt like I could not handle the stress of getting ready to go away again, and also my knee gets increasingly painful. However I really cannot complain for the Lord has given me such a healthy life and I still believe He could give me a miracle. I think Connie Verne and children are coming in to-morrow as Verne wants to see his Dad before he leaves. Have a great Lords DAy Love Grandma

    Gotta luv it!!
I have a friend who is putting toghther a book on parenting with points etc, they have a system so down pat that it makes my jaw drop when I see the before and after effects on the kids. They foster and the kids arrive all upside down and inside out and in only a couple of weeks… complete and total change! It’s truly honestly completely amazing! I’ll share when I get more info.
