Two Down, Twelve To Go

I’m just waiting for my popcorn to pop, and the Canucks are having the first intermission (1-0 if you’re wondering, honey)

I thought I’d pop on, and muse a little to myself. Two full days have come and gone, and I’m still sane. It’s not too bad, aside from the constant busyness, and having to referee the kids by myself with no breaks. The house is clean (see the constant busyness reference), and the kids are happy (sorta - again reference the refereeing comment), and they are all in bed, and should be mostly asleep. I’ve not heard anything in the last 15 minutes. So either they are up to something or asleep. Regardless, I don’t wanna go and check on them.

It’s kind of a funny place that I’m in. I’m not missing Jon too badly (aside from every other moment), but it’s a weird place to be in to be all alone.

I know that I’m not all alone, but I’m sitting here, and I’ve not really had any adult conversation. My day has consisted of explaining to the children why they cannot resort to Physical Violence to get their own way, and why it’s not okay to be disrespectful to me, why they HAVE to help out over the next two weeks, why it’s not okay to scream at your brother or anyone for that matter, it’s felt a bit nutty over here.

We did get out. It felt like if we didn’t get out, then we might all be dead by morning. We were kinda getting on each other, and needed a change of scenery. I really wasn’t certain that going out “to the stores” by myself with the 3 kids was any less stressful than staying home and dealing with the kids and their attitudes.

It went okay. We survived! We came home! Ate dinner, and had baths and now everyone is in bed and I can relax.

Only 12 more days. I can do it - I know I can! Just ask me in a week how I’m doing? You might get a difference answer!
