We’ve Survived Another Day

The kids had the day off school in honor of Remembrance Day. For some reason, in our school, we are also honoring the fallen heroes on Monday as well. Not that I mind honoring the fallen, but do we have to do it for so many days, and especially the days that my kids are supposed to be in school.

I love my kids and all, but don’t they realize that I’m doing this parenting thing on my own right now, and it’s hard work!

Ahhhhhh! It was actually a toss up. While I do love the fact that all three of my kids are in school full time (Have I ever mentioned how much I love that fact?) it also means that I have to get up in the morning, and have “it” all together. I actually stayed in bed until 10am this morning, and while I can’t say that I slept (having all three kids in your bed, simultaneously, watching TV and fighting doesn’t lead to a very productive sleep time), I didn’t actually have to get up and do anything either. So it’s a win/win situation aside from the kids in my bed watching TV and fighting part. That was just a lose/lose situation, but at least I knew where they were, and what they were doing. That’s always a good thing seeing as we’ve lit our gas fireplaces, and they kids keep trying to light stuff on fire. Good thing we’ve got some insurance or I’d have to be really worried.

So, we lazed around all morning, and then finally got moving. We went to my Dad’s office to drop of some stuff, and I wanted to check out Ladybug Organics. I knew they would be somewhere close to his office. What I didn’t realize was they they were right across the parking lot. Sweet!

What was not sweet? Trying to find something that I actually can eat – that was not sweet!

Basically, I can eat veggies and meat and rice. That’s about it. Oh! And Nuts! And organic yogurt. Sounds so exciting doesn’t it. I know that there is more out there, but I just don’t know what it is yet, and trying to check out the store with my three kids flailing around did wonders for my stress levels.

I basically told the guy that I’d just come back on another day.

It was fun! Seriously! Loads of Fun! Can you sense my sarcasm? I sure hope so!

Seriously though, I’m frustrated with this all, ’cause I have a vested interest in having this work and help me to be healthy, and yet it’s stressful to me because I don’t “know” all about it yet! I don’t know how to “work” this system, yet. Once I do, it’ll be fabulous. Until then, life is not so fabulous! I won’t starve. I’ll just be bored, and bored is not good!

On a different note, I have the most wicked-est canker sore, EVER!

I bit my cheek, and gave myself a doozy of a canker sore there, but that one is not kicking my butt like the one that’s between my right, top molar and my jaw. It’s not on my cheek, but tucked back up in behind that tooth and the jaw bone. It hurts so bad, and it’s got the area all around it inflamed. My cheek hurts, and the muscle that connects my jaw together hurts, and my throat on that side hurts, and when I swallow it hurts, and when I talk it hurts, and when I try to open my mouth it hurts. It just hurts really bad! It’s not a cold or anything ’cause my actual tonsil doesn’t hurt. If I shove my fingers down my throat, and give my right tonsil a feel it doesn’t actually hurt, it just feels like it hurts. This is not fun. I even started gargling salt water yesterday ’cause it hurt so bad. The one on my cheek seems to be healing now. This is good, but I really need that one in the back to heal ’cause it hurts like a bugger. Whatever that hurts like!

Do you have any ideas on how to get rid of them? Anyone?? Anything??? I just want it to be gone! This is not fun! It’s, like, the worst possible place you could get one………other than when you get them on your cheek, right where your teeth close, and then every time you close your mouth you bite it a little bit more ’cause it’s sticking out, and it takes forever to heal…yah! That one might be worse, but this definitely takes a very close second!

Seriously though, I’ll try just about anything to get this gone! Seriously! I’m serious!

I try swishing warm salt water, doesn’t really do much but sooth it, and I like Kanka, it numbs it up for a bit you can get it the any drug store.

You can also apply salt directly to the canker sore. It hurts really badly at first, but I have always found that the sore heals up really quickly afterwards. Just dip your forefinger into some salt, and press it into the sore. Cry a little. I won’t judge you for crying. ;)

just wanted to clarify if you are serious or not?

    hahaha LOL

I have to agree with the salt too but if it doesn’t clear up soon you might want to get it looked at!

Oil of cloves helps a lot. You can get this at any health store and it works very fast. The only problem with it, is that is is very potent and doesn’t taste that great at first. So if you can survive the initial taste for a second or two, your sore will be gone in a few days(or at least soothed so you can’t feel it anymore).

I also was on a very strict diet from my nautropath and all I could eat was brown rice, turkey, and some fish. He wanted me to go on this for 6 months! I freaked. It did help the one month I stuck to it but I was so limited to what I could make.Needless to say I quit but really have to go back on it because I felt so much better and had less pain. Good luck with yours, I’m sure you’ll stick to it!
