A Little More Freedom
So I had another appointment at the Natural Family Health Center.
They were to be testing my yeast levels, and checking to see if the parasites are gone.
So, my yeast level was at a 4 before, and now it is at a zero. YAH! Apparently though, I still have lots and lots of little friends with me. I won’t be alone as long as they’re around.
Yah, the parasite levels were pretty high still, but the technician told me that it’s pretty common for the parasites to take about 8 weeks to clear out of your system. It’s not like I have some giant 7 foot tapeworm living inside me…..at least I hope not. Apparently, just about everyone has parasites.
If you’ve ever been out of the country or gone camping or gone bare foot, or had water to drink other than bottled……you’re fair game for the little buggers! So, now that I’m not the only one who’s got them, we can just accept each other and move on.
They can cause a whole bunch of really common problems…..things like anemia, asthma, diarrhea, digestive disorders, fatigue, low immune system, nervousness, and skin rash…..
If you go to your doctor to get tested, you stand a good chance of them pronouncing you clean and free. They can only really test for a few, and there are so many others that they can’t test for.
I have to say that after being on the medicine to kill the yeast and parasites – I feel a million times better. I have so much more energy, and I can function better. I am not having the same intestinal problems that I was. I’m just a happy healthy person. Apparently not too healthy though! I still have a ways to go.
The really exciting thing about being free from the yeast, was that I can add a few things back into my diet. Things like garlic and onions. I can actually flavor some of my food now, instead of just eating plain veggies. Not that I don’t enjoy the taste of my veggies – I do – I just like to have a little variety now and then.
Today we were in Vancouver, and we stopped at Famous Foods. They have a bunch of organic, and natural foods. I picked up some organic corn tortilla chip. They are made from red and blue and yellow corn. So Delicious. I also picked up some goat mozzarella, and while it’s definitely not regular cheddar cheese – I could get used to it…I think…I hope…… (I had nachos tonight – it was heavenly to have a change of diet)
I also bought some Hummus. Ate some of the chips with it as well. I bought some spelt flour, and will attempt to make some tortillas so I can have wraps with them. We’ll see how that goes.
Oh well – Somehow I have booked myself the craziest weekend ever, and I have to get stuff done. I told Jon that we have to book next week up. Book it up so that we don’t have to do anything. Make it a slow week. I need those every once in a while. Hope you had a great day!
