My Bad – Get Over it! I’m trying to!
So, that’s right! I missed yesterday.
I was extremely busy yesterday. I woke up and worked on some music stuff (for today) and then I tried to bake some stuff for the cookie swap (that is happening tomorrow night) but I didn’t have the right ingedients. I haven’t been exactly prepared, but you already know that if you’ve read the last bit overe here. So, then I went and drove for my babysitter’s 16th birthday party (Happy Birthday, Pitch).
She was going to play paintball with her friends and needed an extra vehicle. So, I drove, and the paintball place was close to my mom’s place. So I went over there to help her get reay for tomorrow night, but all we did was visit and talk. I really wasn’t much help was I?
I had to pick the teens up at 5pm, and then head on back out home. I got home just before 6pm. You’d think that I would have had enough for one day.
But NO – I was just getting started! I changed my clothes and we headed out to go back to my mom’s house to drop off the kids for her and dad to babysit. Then we drove into Surrey to vist some friends and watch the horrible crappy hockey game. What is up with the Canucks right now? MAN! We had SO MUCH FUN anyway!
We got home just before midnight, and then instead of rushing to bed – I wound down, and made it into bed around 1am……..1 freakin’ AM………While that was a regular occurance for most of my teenage years – I’m old now, and should know better. So, this morning was not my most favorite-est in the whole entire world. Now, I am baking 15 dozen of the worlds most amazing shortbread. It melt in your mouth. So delicious!
Here’s the recipe:
- 1 pound and 2 tablespoons of real butter
- 1/2 cup Cornstarch
- 1 cup Icing Sugar
- 3 cups Flour
Mix all ingredients together, and then spoon or shape onto cookie sheets, and cook at 325 degrees until you start to see the edges brown (try not to have the edges brown)
BEST EVER!
Any way, I still have to make a few more dozen of these, and then I have to make 12 braided breads. Aaaacccck! hen I have to finish up my Christmas Cards for tomorrow night and sign and address them……
Man! I gotta get busy! Later~

Hi Patti yes I am still in the land of the living!!It has been sometime since I have commented. Retirement is such a busy time. I did some baking last night ,then had to throw out a whole panful so did a few more to-day until I ran out of ingredients. We have so much snow up here ,Uncle Lorne does not think He will try to get to work to-morrow,his car went slipping out of control a couple of times to-day,nearly hit a bus. Do you think we will go to Langley to-morrow??? It is suppose to be more snow and even colder. Guess we will see what to-morrow brings when it gets here. Congrts on your eleven pounds are you going to try for fifteen now. That for sure will need a celebration, but not on a rushed night like the last time. Will talk to you to-morrow. Love Grandma.
