Becca’s Birthday Party

Blowing out the candlesBecca celebreated her 6th birthday this month. On November 3rd, actually! There was a party for her on November the 11th.

Ed & Chelle & the girls, Me and Geli & Xan & J along with about 13 other little girls were there. It was nuts! So Busy! I’m surprised just how quiet that particular group of girls was. You’d see them fly past you all in one big group, and you’d hear the thumping of their feet, but they would just whisper and giggle. It was almost spooky!

Goose EggJust before we left our house, Xan tripped over some of the mess in her room, and smashed her head right into corner of her door. She hit so had, that I heard the thunk in my ensuite bathroom in the other end of the house. She totally mangled her glasses, and ended up with the HUGEST Goose Egg on her forehead! When she finally settled down, she was so upset and embarrased about the bump that she had to find a hat, and then she wouldn’t take it off that entire day!

BeccaBecca is getting so big. It’s hard to believe that her and J are 6 years old now. (J’s not quite – on December 7th) The cousins were born one month apart, and I am amazed at the differences in the two of them. J is only just barely “if we’re lucky and manage to get all the stars in alignment” starting to show some interest school and printing and reading. Becca’s been doing that since before she started kindergarten. Her printing is unbelievable, and her use of sentences and the structure of her sentences is amazing! She also reads HUGE words without any hesitation. Big words don’t scare her one bit. She just sounds them out one by one, and keeps on going. She even reads with emotion in her voice. I wouldn’t wonder if she might actually be a bit gifted. She is an amzing little girl, and Ed & Chelle should be very proud of her. All of that, and I didn’t even mention how sweet and gentle she is. She has a bit of a scrappy nature, as well, just don’t challenge her on something. You’ll find out really quick just what a figher she is. Persistance and determination – see it can bee a good thing too! Oh Well, I love my littlest niece!
