Too Much
So, I’ve been complaining about being tired, and totally procrastinating doing housework and other stuff. I have been feeling like I’m not accomplishing anything, and if you knew(know) me at all, you’d know that I am SO CAPABLE of accomplishing HUGE AMOUNTS of stuff in record amounts of time. That would make me a very grouchy, unsatisfied person if I were accomplishing NOTHING!
So today after spending some time this morning just for me, I wrote a list of stuff that needs to get done. I’ve not even made lists recently (and they are my favorite things. I love checking the little boxes off {Yes, I make little boxes beside my lists} or drawing a line through the done stuff – it feels very rewarding to see a list of stuff that you’ve accomplished) and that is not like me.
To be honest, I was completely ashamed of my list, because it had no order or priority listing or grouping (Yes, we all know I’m a little bit anal about stuff like that), but I was just thrilled that I sort of had a game plan. There was so much crap on that list, but it was good for me to see and visualize what I needed to do today, and what I would do this week, and hopefully stuff that I would finish off before the 31st (I’ve made a promise to get something done by then – EEEEKKKKSSS!).
Today was pretty much dedicated to cleaning my house, and while I didn’t get the whole thing done….I did accomplish quite a bit. If you knew the state it had fallen to, you’d be impressed at what I did manage to get done today. All the laundry is finished, and I did 2 bathrooms(top to bottom, even the tubs, toilets and floors – YAH ME!) I vacuumed the carpets, and tidied the kitchen a bit. The front room is done, the hallway mirror (folding doors) and I even did the front entry way! I love my PINK SOLUTION! It’s amazing stuff. No scrubbing involved, but smear or spray on, let it sit for a few minutes, (I just went and sprayed down the next thing to be done and then came back) and then wipe off with a damp rag. Voila! I LOVE IT! LOOOOOOOOOOVE IT! This was all before I had a 1:00pm meeting for some Admin stuff, and then the kids came home at 3:00pm. I made dinner, supervised the kids homework, and then we had a family meeting.
We had gotten a bit slack on the kids recently, and are really paying for it. So, we’ve cracked down, let them know what expected, and what the consequences are if they disobey. Now comes the hard part. Walking it out! YUCK! Oh well, it’ll go good! They just need a bit of a reminder – they are actually really good kids!
So, it’s 6:00pm. The kitchen is cleaned, Xan is taking a shower, Jon and the other two are playing a video game together, and have about 45 minutes before they have to start thinking about bed time. I’m feeling a bit tired, but who can blame me! So, I know that this was a really exciting post, and I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about my day so much more than I’ve enjoyed posting about it.
I’m scrounging the depths of my brain trying to come up with something hilarious or even just witty, and failing miserably. I know I’ve written that same sort of thing quite a bit recently, but it’s true. Life just isn’t that funny right now in our house. Nothing terribly wrong, but not terribly funny.
Well, I can’t wait for bed time, and so I can watch The Class. Any of you watch The Class?? What other shows do you watch? I like House…no let me correct that…..I LOOOOOVE HOUSE! So funny! Funny Funny Funny! Like almost my favorite ever……ummmmm I really like Bones. Jon and I have also been enjoying Stand Off (but It’s not starting again until the end of March), and Ugly Betty and….and…..Oh Yah! Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip! I think there is more, but these are just the shows that Jon and I like to watch, not the cheesy shows that I like to watch, and Jon hates, like ANTM and The Bachelor/ette! So, let’s hear….what are your favorites?

Sorry, I don’t watch any of those shows… but I do enjoy NCIS, Numb3rs, The Closer, and my husband and I are hooked on 24. I guess you could say our tv viewing is very intense.
I don’t mind reading about your day, you accomplished something and that’s a good thing.
I guess no news is good news??
So, I’m glad you had a good day.

My hubby and I are total polar opposites on most shows. If we watch a show together it is a reality show like Amazing Race or the game show Deal or No Deal. He watches sports, sports highlights and 24. Sometimes we get to watch NCIS together – I much prefer it to the other acronym shows these days, I’m getting tired of the “cool” camera angles and the camera inside the gun shot wound. I am getting into Heroes, when I can remember it is on. Men in Trees is ok for a drama. I have watched Studio 60 and actually enjoy the banter.
I’m actually getting bored with TV – it’s all been done before and most of the reality shows are like watching a car wreck – you can’t help but look.
Right now (because nothing else is on) I’m watching, “What about Brian”. It’s a bit of a night soap and the characters aren’t very deep.
I could go on and on and on
Have a good night!!

We don’t watch any of those shows either….
we love Hero’s, Brothers and Sisters, ER, Grey’s Anatomy, My name is Earl, Scrubs and our favorite is the office.
We usually watch Survivor and try to catch the Amazing Race for reality shows, the rest are so been there done that now for us…oh and we like Extreme Makeover Home Edition. I just read in a magazine that one of the home owners have appealed their new property taxes…apparently they went from over $6000/year to over $14,000/year with the new house and they can’t afford it! yikes eh?!

i love House too! Ugly Betty has really grown on me as has Studio 60. Henri doesn’t watch any of those with me though. those, along with Grey’s Anatomy and a few others are shows i watch while feeding Ayva. together we watch ER, Surivor, Amazing Race (we would totally kick butt on that show!), Heroes, The Office, Boston Legal, Veronica Mars, Stargate…oh my! we watch a lot of TV.
lala…i watch Extreme Home Makeover too! it always makes me cry. i recently watched the one with the cop who was paralyzed. i used lots of kleenex on that one as it made me think of my sister. that totally sucks about the property taxes going up. i bet that happens a lot. i always wonder too if the family really likes the design or do they make changes afterwards. and i think they should do follow up stories sometimes. i’d like to know what happens to these people.

oh I would love follow up too, on all reality shows…that would be intersting too well for a bit anyways! so glad to hear you guys share our love of the office, not many people do but seriously the funniest show on tv PERIOD…and no laugh tracks….I HATE laugh tracks!

I don’t watch comedy’s very often, I prefer drama’s, but I did want to add one comedy our whole family loves… Corner Gas. My son and I both have Corner Gas clothing… and we plan to visit the set on our way back from Alberta this summer! We’re big fans.
