We have far too much (white) sugar products in this house. I've managed to hide the halloween candies long enough that I threw them out yesterday and no one knew any better. We had 3 kids parties this weekend and the bags were so full of the crap that I again am hiding the bags. Out of sight - out of mind. I have a huge addiction for sweets so the less I can pass on to my children the better.

Not only does the dentist hate it - it's bad for the rest of their body. Once in a while isn't a bad thing either. My kids always ask before they eat anyways, I've at least taught them one thing they do!!

well as you know we are starting to elminate a lot of sugar from our home too. I did hear someone say recently that you have the rule no sugar in your home but to allow them to have cake at parties and the odd treat when they are out, so they don't feel like they are missing out on anything or different from others. I would think that would have be within reason though. Because your child is given an enormous bag of candy....does that mean you have to allow them to eat it all? can you spread it out? but then you have it in your home and that is against the rules! what about when sugar affects your child? I know that Faith is seriously addicted to sugar...kind of snuck up on me and now whamo I've seen the light! so how to balance it all? that is what I am wondering, Can you balance it? I know we were not allowed and we snuck it, even stole so we could buy it!! yikes that is scary! this would be an interesting dialoge to get started as I would love some more insight on this subject!
