It’s A Picture-Fest

So HappyWell, I finally got around to it. I uploaded all my old pictures from December and January and any that I did take in February on to Flickr.

I know that this is a sure fire way to not get anyone to look at your pictures, ’cause seriously unless you’re family – why would you want to go and scroll through pages of pictures of me and my family and friends. But if you want to go right ahead.

I’m going to post a few of my favorites here, but they may or may not be on flickr. I know that may seem weird, but if I only had one picture from an event that I liked, I wasn’t just going to throw it up there all by it’s lonesome. I like to group my pictures so they don’t feel lonely or sad.

Baby Jonathan

My Youngest Nephew, Jonathan

Geli B&WI was very surprised at this next shot. Normally, Geli is a difficult one to take a picture of. She usually tries so hard to look……to look……cute or something, and it just ends up looking really awkward. To have a picture of her that looks relaxed and pretty all at the same time is nothing short of a miracle. It’s hard to believe that she’s going to be 10 years old in just over a month. I remember when I was pregnant, and then the first few months of her life when we sat around in our little apartment in Burnaby, and slept and ate and slept and ate. I was a good life. Now we are rushing around to after school sports practices, and entering Science Fairs, and even dealing with some fabulous preteen stuff. So much fun, but so many years away from that tiny little baby who made me a mom for the first time.

Sky on Nathaniel's Day

I didn’t say too much about Nathaniel’s Day, and unfortunately the pictures that we did take on that day (before my camera battery died) will mean nothing to anyone but me. We got pictures of the kids balloons that we released, and what they wrote on them, and it was priceless to hear what the think about Nathaniel, his very short life, and death. I did take this picture before the stupid camera died, and it’s the hill (and sky – obviously!) beside the park where we released the balloons in celebration of our son and brother that we never got to know.

Jonathan B & WBoth this picture of Jonathan and the first one of him were taken at my oldest nephew’s birthday party just a few weeks ago. He is such a little sweetheart, and wanted his picture taken so badly, but then wanted to see himself in the LCD screen as soon as the picture was taken…….just like a big kid. Look at those eyes! Aren’t they amazing? …..and the lips too….he’s just such a kissable baby.

I am surprised at how my level of productivity goes down when I am pregnant. It’s as if it requires almost all of my spare effort just to grow this life, and so much of everything else that I want to do is kicked to the curb. I was just complaining to Jon about how fed up I am with being tired. With the other pregnancies, I was so overwhelmingly tired that I didn’t even care about what was or was not getting done. I honestly think that I was about 50% asleep for about 90% of the time. With the pregnancy, I know that I am in a better space, and I can accomplish more stuff that I was able to before, but I’m still so blinking tired that I don’t feel like doing anything…..things that I like to do – like blog or take pictures or make cards or knit or even just keep on top of my housework or the budget or the weekly menu’s.

I’m so sick of feeling tired.

My Sweet Boy

I love this shot of J. It’s just a sweet, gentle shot of him. I love that it’s a profile shot, too. I think it captures that soft, gentle side of him that everyone who meets him falls in love with. I think that you can see the resemblance to my side of the family, especially my dad.

Well, I have to go and do my hair ’cause I gotta leave for a meeting in 10 minutes, and I’m not ready yet. On the positive side of things, I did clean my bathrooms today, and have done a butt-load of laundry.

Hey Girl…your amazing! You do all this, and still get to your meeting on time! Wow! And i loved the pix of J.J. too – kinda reminded of how Jon must have looked when he was little. Loved the pix of the hill you took,on Nathaniel’s day…kinda wondered if there wasn’t something prophetic in it. Anyway..glad your feeling good, even if it’s ‘good and tired’! You look great…and for all of us who have walked you thru the journey of the last couple years – it’s awesome seeing you look so full of life@!

Joseph has a family tree project for school, so I stopped by here to see if I could get some good photos of my brother’s family, and WOW!! These are some really great shots, Patty. I love the shots of your kids, but forgive me if I’m partial to the shots of my Jonathan. And if this is the quality of your work, when you’re exhausted pregnant – I wouldn’t worry too much about your productivity.
