Week #2 Day #2
Well, I feel a million times better, and even a little bit worse in some ways. I should probably explain this, as it seems to be quite contradictory, but if you’ve been reading here for any amount of time at all, you should realize that my life seems to be one HUGE contradiction.
I went to the chiropractor this afternoon, and as I figured, I was a mess. I already knew this, as my shoulders have been feeling like I have arthritis in my shoulder joints, and last night my hips hurt, and then went numb…..it was a fun night, let me tell you. Pain all around….who doesn’t love a good nights un-rest like that once in a while.
He adjusted me a ton, and I felt instantly better, and thought to myself, “I am going to feel this adjustment later.” Well, later is here now. All the muscles that have been pulling in the wrong direction now hurt ’cause they are in the right position, but the right position hurts…..SOOOoooooo as soon as my muscles figure themselves out, I’ll be okay, until then….if I wasn’t pregnant, I’d be living off Robaxacet 8 with codeine. Unfortunately, my drug of choice at this moment is Tylenol, and really that does NOTHING for me! Nice, eh!
So before the appointment, the kids and I trucked into my Dad’s office in Port Kells, and had lunch with him at the local greasy spoon. My Dad owns a flooring company, and it’s a family affair. He’s owned it for as long as I can remember, and it used to be that his brothers and father worked with him. At one point, a cousin was the receptionist. Just keeping it all in the family. Now, the uncles are all getting older, and falling apart (laying flooring is tough on your body) , and my dad has a new set of family to run through. My brother and sister are both laying carpet for him. It’s pretty funny, and I think it’s pretty cool.
Any way, This picture of Dad and the girls….I was surprised to see how much Xan looks like my dad. I’ve always said and thought that Xan looked a ton like my side of the family, and Geli looks so much like Jon’s side. I think that this picture really shows it. Obviously, my dad’s pointy little chin (like Xan’s) is hidden under a few extra pounds, but the shape of the head, and the nose and across the bridge of her face, and even her top lip all look so much like my dad. It was a nice surprise to upload this picture, and see the resemblance sitting right there in front of me. I’ll have to scan a picture of Jon when he was 10 so you can see the resemblance to Geli. It’s uncanny!
After lunch, we did the library and then the chiropractor, then we headed into Langley City and stopped at OLD NAVY! I had bought a sweater there a little bit ago, and I love it. It’s fitted, so I don’t feel like a huge whale in maternity clothes. I’m surprised at how few of the local maternity shops are selling fitted clothes. It’s all still the huge tent stuff. Not really my style. So I bought this one sweater a while ago, and have regretted ever since that I didn’t get more in the different colors. So I went back to today and bought a light blue one, and a green one. YAH! Now I have a little variety available, AND I can wear the sweaters after the baby is born once it starts to cool down in the fall.
After Old Navy, I was starting to feel a bit worn out. I don’t usually do ANYTHING with all three kids let alone be out and gone form the house and in and out of a million places for a whole day. I deserve a medal or something for today. I know, I know – there are tons of women that take 3 kids or more out regularly, and to them I say “Congratulations“, and “You’re nuts!”
I like to think of myself as a strong women, but there are things that I can handle and others that I do not handle, and usually 3 kids out and about, in and out of stores and offices is more than I choose to handle.
We came home, and I folded about 45 (okay maybe 6) piles of laundry, and most of it is put away. The kids are bathed, and having a snack, and then it’s off to bed! Yah!
This must be part of that second trimester energy that people keep talking about. I am tired, but not so much so that I HAVE to go to bed now. Although, to be honest, I really don’t want to do ANYTHING right now, but I think that I’m just feeling lazy!
** Funny story for the day: **
When we were having lunch, My dad mentions to the kids that he was hoping they would have gotten to his office a little bit earlier, because he had a huge delivery of rolls of under pad that he was hoping they’d help him put away, but because we were later than I meant to be, he did it all himself.
Xan pipes up with, “What do you need a huge roll of underpants for, Papa!”
It was pretty cute when she realized that she had heard wrong and that he had said UNDERPAD, and not UNDERPANTS!
