So Excited and now……

Well, I went for coffee this morning with Jon and a friend. When we got home, there was a message waiting for us on the phone.

MARY, DON’T READ THIS ONE! SERIOUSLY!

There is that heart lurching moment when you hear the voice on the other end asking if you could call your OB’s office as they’d like to talk to you – but don’t worry, just call!

Yah! Like it’s possible to not worry when you get an ambiguous message like that.

Well, the Administrative assistant in my OB’s office wanted to know if we wanted to know the sex of the baby right away, or if we wanted to wait until my next appointment on April 13th.

Uh, No! I want to know RIGHT NOW.

I’ve been worrying that they wouldn’t have been able to find out, and that we wouldn’t know, and then I’d be upset, and it would all be awful and life would suck! See how fast I can go on a downward spiral….it’s amazing isn’t it. A gift of sorts….albeit a terrible one, at that.

Any how, so she tells me what the report says, and I cry ’cause I was so happy to know, and thank her so much! I even questioned her about the likelihood of it actually being what they say it was, and she said that they never give you a 100%, but that she’s never heard of them being wrong either. So it’s for real. I mean, we can plan! It’s so exciting! I kinda knew, and Jon says that he did too. But now, NOW……we can plan and get excited, and start picking stuff out. See, between Nathaniel and all the other losses, well, I pretty much got rid of everything…..it hurt to much to see it, and I while I really wanted to have another baby, with each loss, I lost a little more hope that it would actually happen. This one feels different though. I really believe that I will hold this child this summer, and that it will live.

WOW! It’s just so much fun to know, and the biggest feeling of stress that I have at this exact moment is trying to come up with a name that I REALLY like! We are thinking about one, but I’m not 100% certain that it’s the one I want. I might go to the library today and pick up a few baby name books to help us figure it out exactly. Now that we know, I want a name…..I want a name for this little one RIGHT AWAY! I want to start calling it by it’s name.

Well, have I dragged out the suspense long enough? I could just quit now, and drag it out for another day,……………………………

Boy, that would be so mean wouldn’t it? Well, the only thing I ask is that my kids are not home yet, and so if you see them, don’t tell them, ’cause we want to tell them ourselves.

We are having a little……………………………BOY! YAH! We are so excited. I couldn’t hold it in any longer. I’m so excited, and it’ll be so much fun to tell the kids ’cause this will even up the boy’s team, and that’s something that Jer has been really talking about. He actually wanted me to have twin boys so that the boys team would win, but I guess just tying it all up will have to do.

YAH! A BOY! How cool is that?!?! Now I’m just rambling so I’ll go. Hope your day is even half as good as mine is!
