Update from Momma for June 9th and 10th
Sunday June 17th is Chris 23rd Birthday.
We have told him people all over the world are praying for him and God has listened and is answering prayer. Thank you for being part of why Chris is having his 23rd Birthday. For those who have been praying and standing with us and those who have been following Chris’ progress and want to send Chris a happy Birthday message we would print it out and take it into him on his birthday. You can either leave it in the comments or send an e-mail to patti@xangelle.com.
Saturday June 9thÂ
Saturday he was sad when we first arrived…
We think he is having moments when he is aware of the reality of what has happened. He was very sad about being stuck in bed and not being able to do anything. We encouraged him to keep trusting God and working on his rebuilding exercises and in time God would help him to be able to do anything he wanted to.  He was moving his left leg and arm much more freely even than Friday. He talked about more things; his memories of his childhood and life are all there. We were glad, as he has begun to remember more things even as close as the last couple of months before the accident. His humor is great.Â
Saturday when the physio came with their help, he was able to sit up on the side of the bed. He sat there unassisted and seemed to think he could sit there for hours….it wasn’t long before he was ready to lie down again. He is getting a little more movement in his wrist and fingers. Praise the Lord.
He started to keep a journal. Right now it is only as we remind him but it is good for him to see in his own hand writing what he has done and when he can’t remember we tell him to look and see what he wrote. We are hoping with God’s help, this too will help trigger his short-term memory.
Sunday June 10th
We were in to see him this morning. He was in a happier mood.
When he knew it was Sunday, he asked if we went to church. He was able to see where his Dad parked the truck. His nurse had turned his bed so he could look out the window. He is eating really well. Chris and Mark played checkers today. He did better today with his journal and was again able to look back and check for answers to some of the questions that we asked him.
He was working out his left hand and fingers when we arrived. He has a little rubber brain that he can squeeze. He put it under his left hand and with great concentration was able to pick it up and then use his right hand to lift the left arm up and drop the brain on the bed table. Then he was able to maneuver it until he could pick it up again and move it back onto the bed. I think with the great amount of concentration required; he was unaware of how much movement he actually got in his elbow area. He finds it a challenge, something to conquer.Â
It is wonderful how strong his right leg has become. Mark said when he bent it up and then pushed… Chris was stronger than Mark could resist. He is able to shift his body weight around in the bed now. He is moving his left so much more…. Although it is still not able to weight bear at all, because of the foot surgery and the new flap on the lower leg, this still needs time to heal. We are praying that when the time comes for them to move Chris that God will open up the way for him to go to G.F.Strong’s Rehab. They told us that he would need to be able to bear weight on his left foot, so we are praying this will heal quickly.
We know that God will work this together for good. We will trust Him and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, who is the Author and the Finisher of our Faith. We are Praising God for all he is doing and has done for Chris and Nina.
Thank you for your continued prayers. They are much appreciated.

I just want to say that I am so happy that you are doing really well Chris. Everyday I read a new triumph that you have accomplished! Praise the Lord! From where I’m looking, you’re right on the mark for the finish line. Sometimes the path is hard. but remember there are those around you holding you up in Every way. Those that can see that finish line. We all believe that there is a strength in you not of flesh but of the Spirit. Keep going Chris, you’re making it!
