August 3rd Update from Alanna
Well I have seen Chris about 3 or 4 times now and each time I see him he has gotten better. Even from the first time I saw him, when he was still VERY confused and not thinking straight he was still as funny as ever. I remeber Uncle Mark telling him his arm will be ‘back’ to normal in no time and Chris responded so non chalantly with “I know! I got my back right here.” referring to the skin and muscle graph on his arm taken from his back =]
…He is always smiling when I see him and he is always so full of life, just accepting this is where he is and making the best of it.
Today when I saw him he was as funny as ever and I really saw his true KENNEDY side come out.  He was reminising of his volleyball days and the way he was talking was just like any of my uncles but Uncle Marks personality especially shone through, with words like “num-skul“, “peices of work” and a couple of “so I says to the guy, look it….“
I think he has even mastered the Kennedy squint but I have seen him grow so much in this time, not only physically but mentally. He remembered that I played soccer the very FIRST time my mom mentioned me.  That was huge to me but now he remembers so much more about me himself.
He was telling me how high in volleyball he can jump and the different test he had to take in high school, courses he dropped after a week and how some shmucks at a volleyball tryout just taped a tape measure to the wall for a jump test causing the other “num skul” players who and I quote “dont have the brains to run BESIDE the wall so these idiots without brains smash their knees in the wall.“
It was amazing to see him remembering so much.  I love you, Chris, so much and I cant wait till you are all healed and so we can go about our cousinly like things as before =]
Love you,
Love,
Alanna

It’s so great on a daily basis to see the light shining brighter in Chris’s eyes. The infection festering in his leg while he was in Purdy was obviously causing him to feel more unwell as the days went by. I am thankful his surgery has been so successful to this point and I pray that “all things will continue to work together for good…to those who love the Lordâ€. xo
