An update with a little bit o’ somethin’ somthin’ for ya

First of all HUGE THANKS to all who have popped by and said, “HI!” It is so much fun to see who is out there and to hear what you are thinking. (If you haven’t had a chance to leave a comment yet – have I got the opportunity for you! Read on for more info.) We love being able to connect with you in some way….even if it is through the screen.

Here is the picture that Chris sent me yesterday. He’s looking studly, no?

Chris #4

As you can see, (or if you can’t – go here to see the set so far to compare) the swelling is going down and aside from having lips that look like he’s had some SERIOUS botox injections (which he hasn’t) Chris is starting to look pretty good.

He’s had two Doctors appointments this week. One on Tuesday and one on Wednesday and the greneral overall report is that things are going well. Chris is allowed to start eating soft foods now and to take off the bands (that are holding his head together) for eating and brushing his teeth. but he’s to keep them on the rest of the time.

Apparently they did some serious adjusting to the upper jaw and that is where all the fun started with the bleeding and all that jazz. Once again, we find out after the fact, that Chris wanted to make his situation memorable and that the whole bleeding out thing was actually pretty serious and well, we are just really happy that it all turned out well in the end. The seriousness of the surgery would account for the slower post surgery start to llife.

Chris, as usual, is not complaining (but he would be allowed to if it ever got to much for him, right Chris????), but just trucking along.

While I was waiting for him to send me a picture, I fired this off to him……

Patti

and he replied with this…..

Chris

and that got me thinking about how it might be fun to get a bunch of goofy pictures and throw them up here….

So, last night at Geli’s performance….you can go over here in a bit for more about that…I took these.

Chelle…….

Now, here is where my brain starts kicking in to overdrive and where we need YOU!!!!!

I’d love to be able to post a whole bunch more goofy, funny, silly pics. It woud be fun to see and so if you were interested in contributing….we’re not looking for amazing photos of quality and beauty…these were all taken with my phone….so just a quick goofy shot…..if you’re iterested in helping Chris to not be so bored as he passes the time convalesceing or maybe just in being a part of something silly and fun, then comment and let me know if you want to e-mail a gooofy pic in to me or if you want to send me a pic from your phone. If you leave a quick comment, I’ll respond back to you with the where, when, why, how….you know, all that fun stuff.

So, what do ya think? Anyone on board?

Edited to Add:

  2. debbie:

Chris, maybe you would look less dazed if you looked at the camera on your computer and not at the screen! Just puttin’ that out there. Love ya, Debbie

Well isn’t it amazing that even life post volleyball still leaves you looking a little bit like one for the moment! All in fun of course…couldn’t let a jab post Spartan Sport Therapy pass me by. I will say that we do serve an awesome God…I cannot believe how much you have endured with grace and dignity and how much God’s blessings have been poured out on you in small and big ways. I pray for you often, believe me…TWU days seem really long ago, but even still the v-ball boys were definitely some of my faves! I “talked” to Reuben Zuidhof via Facebook…he wanted me to fly to Korea to give him acupuncture on his professional SOCCER injury! What’s up with that? hmmmmm….yeah, don’t think so. Hang in there knowing that healing is occurring and that once again God’s provision is at the forefront. Peace out….
